DO WE BELIEVE????
If you ask most people if they believe the Word of God is truth, they will most emphatically say yes. We, who are Christians believe God's Word is true but do we believe it is the absolute truth? Again, we would say, yes!!
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God..we believe that He was crucified and died on the cross,was resurrected on the 3rd day and is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven. We believe He died for our sins. We believe if we except Him as our Lord and Savior we will live throughout eternity with Him.
What do we believe now, right where we are?? What are we doing with Jesus and His Word. Do we try to make His Word line up with our life or is our life lining up with His Word. Jesus has given us much instruction and truth to live by. We never have to hope His Word is true because whether we believe or not doesn't change the fact that every Word in the Word is absolute truth.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. If we don't read the word we will never have the faith of God working in our lives. God's Word is powerful. In Genesis 1..God said and God saw. Jesus tells us in Mark 11:22-24, that we shall have whatever we say.
What are you saying? Are you believing for healing but only talking sickness. Are you believing for finances but only speaking, I'm never going to get out of this debt. Are you believing for victory but only speaking words of defeat.
Our words are very important!! Matt. 12:37 By our words we are justified and by our words we are condemned. Prov.18:21 amp. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life] Matt.5:34 & James 5:12 Our confession is either yea or nay (belief or unbelief)
We can only believe what is in our heart (Matt.12:34 out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks), so if we don't put the Word in our heart by reading and studying...at best we will be struggling to even have hope.
Hoping is not believing. If we hope something will happen then we aren't sure it will.
If we believe without doubting then we don't have to hope, we just know. If we know, we expect results.
If we believe according to Mark 16:17-20 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18-they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. 19-So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, He was received up into heaven and sat on the right hand of God. 20-And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word with signs following. Amen
Do we really believe?
God, I pray that Holy Spirit continues to lead us into all Truth and that we believe with signs following. Amen

I hear what you are saying, and I know it is true but I still have times when I believe and stand in faith and feel as if things get worse.I guess there are things that I,m trying to work out on my own when I think I am giving them to Jesus, because there are still many times that I struggle with this constant feeling of fear and torment in my mind. I think of 1 John4:18 There is no fear in love: but perfect love casteth out fear because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.This scripture makes me wonder how you are made perfect in love? But as I'm writing this I was taken back to 1 John 2:5-6, 5 But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. 6 He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked. These scriptures make me think that I am not keeping His word, Pray that I will abide in His word and that His word will abide in me. I know His word but I must not be abiding in it. This is truly my hearts desire to abide in Him and Him in me.
ReplyDeleteThank-you for your prayers
I love you
Mike
This is one of those times that every word I wrote was just erased. Trying to rewrite but you know how that goes.
ReplyDeleteSatan wants you to think you aren't abiding. If he can't get us to doubt one way he will go another way. He used the Word against Jesus and he uses it against us.
Jesus only convicts, He never condemns. When we are convicted we usually know about what. Condemnation makes us feel we are less than we should be which puts our focus on our-self. The plan of Satan.
The Word says we have to fight the good fight of faith which tells me it must be a real battle. Anyone who believes and stands on the Word and yet things seem to stay the same or get worse understands this. The fight is to continue to believe in spite of what we are seeing or feeling or hearing.
As you said in your blog, our work is believing and it isn't always the easiest thing to do. We continue to read, meditate and speak His Word until we have such a close relationship with the Lord that we can do nothing less than trust and believe. The Holy Spirit is leading us into ALL truth. The Word says, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. (John 14:6) So we are being led into ALL of Jesus. In Him ALL things are possible.
Our God is faithful..His Word is true.
Satan is a deceiver..he is a liar and a thief.
Mike, you dwell in the secret place of the Most High and you abide under the shadow of the Almighty. The Lord is your refuge and your fortress; in Him do you trust. He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night. nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.
ONLY with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lord, your refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
Because you have set your love upon the Lord, He will deliver you, He will set you on high, because you know His name.
You shall call upon Him and He will answer you;
He will be with you in trouble;
He will deliver you and honor you.
With long life He will satisfy you and show you His salvation.
Psalm 91:1-16
My favorite Psalm...I like to make it personal.
I love you

I just read your comment for the third time ,what a blessing. It was as if God gave me ears to hear what He had to say about, and to me. What a powerful word I will never read this the same way again this word belongs to me now, He gave it to me. I asked you to pray for me and I'm sure you did, but I just want you to know how in touch you are with the Holy Spirit because He not only heard your prayer but He used you to give His word to me.
ReplyDeleteGLORY BE TO GOD!
I love Him and I love you too.
your brother
Mike
When God gave me this, I thought it was just mine but come to find out He has given this to a lot of people. If you change where it is talking about God to I, Me, My...it's as if He is talking directly to you. Payton is about to be 14 and He gave it to me the night before she was born. It has continued to grow in me since that night.
ReplyDeleteI agree..GLORY BE TO GOD!! I am sooo thankful for His Love, Grace, and Mercy.
I love you too
Connie
Wow, sounds like ya'll are in revival!! I just now had time to get on my blog. I have been missing out.
ReplyDeleteMike, I can relate to your comments. We all know the word is true. We have been grounded in the scripture. Yet, at times, I feel so far away from the power of it. No matter how much I try to stand and believe, it seems to not be working. I agree with Connie, Satan continues to try and keep us confused about the truth. His mission is to try and rob us of our Father's truth. Again, as Connie said, no matter how much he tries, and no matter how confused we get, the TRUTH is still the TRUTH!! This is where I continue to feel the Holy Spirit say to me that the working power of believing and it working in my life is in God's hands. He gets us through these times, every time. Not because of anything that I did, but because of who He is. God has said that He will never forsake us and He won't. Whether we fail or not, He won't. Remember when the man asked God to help his unbelief. I can't help but believe he was feeling those same feelings. When we take on the responsibilty of believing in our own strength we will always go through those times. The reason is because unless it's His power it can't fulfill what it proclaims. I know I have said this many times but I am going to say it again. God uses me, I don't use Him. I still say that God's not asking me to use His power, but is asking me to surrender to His power.
I personally believe that God is teaching us and maturing us into what He created us for during these times. We have a tendency to fall prey to the idea that God is leaving it up to us to bring us into what He created us for. God's will will be done in our life. He is the potter, we are the clay. Jonah went to Ninevah in spite of his attempt to not go. When we become one of His children, God works in our life to develop us into His liking. God will not fail. Instead of us feeling that we are defeating something, I think God wants us to recognize what He is trying to show us about ourselves. He is removing those things that are hindering us from being what He wants us to be. For me, it gets exciting to know that God loves me that much. It brings me to a greater understanding of who He is and how great He is. It then causes me to praise Him even more.
If we really want the power of Satan to be broken, I think our Father wants us to come to grips with what He has already accomplished. The battle is not between flesh and blood, but a spiritual battle. The fight needs to be between God and Satan, not US and Satan. We can't win against him in our self. We need to send him directly to Jesus when he starts and spend no time toying with him. God doesn't need my strength or your strength, or Connie's to overcome Satan. In fact, He has already defeated him. Why are we fighting something that has already be won? I think for most of us, it's because we haven't accepted the full victory of the cross. We have received our salvation, but we haven't accepted the rest. That brings us back to believing. You can be sure that God will do a work in our life that will lead us to be able to receive this full victory by exposing to us why we are not. He then will remove it's strength in our life.
I love you both,
Stan
Mike said up above in one of his comments:
ReplyDelete"these scriptures make me think that I am not keeping His Word"
You know how you read something and then, this almost out loud thought comes to you. Well, it happened with this. As I read those words, I heard...MY WORD IS KEEPING YOU....
His Word is keeping us!!!!
Amazing Grace
