Growing in Spirit and Truth

With this being almost the beginning of a new year, I tend to reflect on what is behind me but at the same time, I look forward to what is ahead. This past year has prepared me for the coming year and only God knows what it holds. I know He will reveal each day as I abide in His Word. I was reading about the birth of Jesus and one part stood out to me. Luke 2:8-20...and there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. What stood out was the fact that they were abiding and keeping watch over the flock in the night. They were right where they were supposed to be, doing what they were called to do...not out somewhere searching for their purpose but just fulfilling their purpose for that day. If they had been out somewhere instead of abiding they would have missed the angel of the Lord. God chose the ones who were abiding and watching in the night to reveal the Good News. Well, good morning!! It's been a long time....I started this blog just out of curiosity. As you can see I haven't done anything with it. I have a lot inside but don't know how to say or write it but I am about to try. I am seeing soooo much sadness in this world. People who have been putting on their happy faces are beginning to lose the strength to do it anymore and bad things are happening.  Because we are Christians we do a lot of pretending and trying to do the right thing. We never want to disappoint God, our family, or even the people we call our friends but because we can't get past what we feel we wind up in a ditch somewhere. I was asked to give a little talk in my Sunday School class awhile back and in the process of studying trying to decide what to talk about, The Spirit of God led me into a study  of husband and wife relationship which also lead to Christ and the Church. John 8:31-32 31-If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32-And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free John 14:6 6-Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 16:13 13-Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. If I stay in His Word, I will know The Truth....Jesus said, He is The Truth....The Spirit of Truth will guide me into All Truth.... I like the word all....it only has one meaning....ALL Thank you Jesus

John 4:23-24 23-But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24-God is a Spirit; and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
