"TAKE UP YOUR BED"

Ponder on this: The world says: "you've made your bed, now lie in it" Jesus says: Mark 2:9 NKJV  "Which is easier to say to the paralytic, "Your sins are forgiven you" or to say, "Arise, take up your bed and walk"? John 5:8  NKJV  Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk." John 5:11 NKJV  He answered them, "He who made me well said to me, 'Take up your bed and walk.'"                                                                 John 5:12 NKJV  Then they ask him, "Who is the Man who said to you, 'Take up your bed and walk'?" Romans 12:2  "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God." Deut. 30:19  "I call heaven and earth to record this day aga...

"CHOOSE LIFE"

This morning, I was thinking not talking to God...just reliving Christmas and revisiting some decisions I made and going about doing a few things around the house.  God always uses visual things to make a point to me and when I least expect it. .... God has told me many times that, I trust in me doing everything right, more than I trust "HIM". He proves this to me daily.... I had two choices put before me....we have choices to make everyday. And if you are anything like me, your choices sometimes will bring guilt. I'm thinking, I know I should do this but I want to do this....it's that "I place before you life and death" verse (Deut.30:18-20), I always hear at times like this. I know I should choose life but sometimes I just don't...at least that's what Satan screams at me. Look at what you just chose to do..now is that what a good Christian would have done..."NO"...absolutely not..he will say. Then I fall into the guilty hole ...

"WE'VE BEEN NOTICED"

Hi..... I just finished a new book.."The Noticer" by Andy Andrews. A friend at church gave it to me to read. It's about a man name "Jones"..he helped people who were in a bad place in their life by giving them a new perspective in their situation. This made me think of Jesus...He's our "Noticer"...He notices every detail of our lives. I thought, wouldn't it be great if Jesus just showed up and talked us through our troubled times. We all have times in our lives when we feel separated from everyone and everything. It can be due to many things..the death of someone we love, sickness, being hurt by someone we trusted or just life in this old world. We begin to think no one cares. Well, that isn't true...Jesus cares and He notices our pain and tears. He has noticed every second of every day of our life. He has guided us through all of our hard times even when we didn't feel His presence at the time. We may not hear His voice but He has ...

Image
Just wanted to say something..kinda feels like we have all gone dormant. I love this picture so I decided to post it on my blog. My daughter said it had a majestically peaceful look. When snow is falling there is a quietness that seems to overtake everything. We only got 4.5 inches but for us that is alot. The kids had a ball..for some it was the first real snow they had ever seen. Our malls shut down..businesses closed..schools were out(of course)..even our church shut down for the first time ever. But I heard people talking about how there were families out everywhere with their children playing in the snow. Snow can sometimes be inconvenient but this time it was like it slowed everything down so families could come together and just enjoy each other. Facebook was loaded with pictures and videos of moms and dads and their children sledding, making snow angels, writing their name in the snow, eating snow cream, building snowmen, turning flips off their sleds, just picture after p...

Abiding and Watching

With this being almost the beginning of a new year, I tend to reflect on what is behind me but at the same time, I look forward to what is ahead. This past year has prepared me for the coming year and only God knows what it holds. I know He will reveal each day as I abide in His Word. I was reading about the birth of Jesus and one part stood out to me. Luke 2:8-20...and there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. What stood out was the fact that they were abiding and keeping watch over the flock in the night. They were right where they were supposed to be, doing what they were called to do...not out somewhere searching for their purpose but just fulfilling their purpose for that day. If they had been out somewhere instead of abiding they would have missed the angel of the Lord. God chose the ones who were abiding and watching in the night to reveal the Good News. This year must be a year of abiding and watching... Jeremiah...
