BELIEVING OR HOPING???

Hello God.....

I need to ask You something. Why is so hard for us here on earth? Jesus went through much more than we can ever imagine and never lost His focus. We can be moving along real good and then something happens and immediately our focus goes straight to what ever that something is. God, You know, my brother is going to say the "f" word [flesh]. If flesh is sooo bad why did You put us in it to start with?

God, I just want to live in Your Word not my flesh. God, You know how bad things are...do You like being given the credit of being in control? If I were You, I wouldn't want anyone to think I was in control of this mess but then I'm not You. I only see the mess, You see the finished work.

Psalm 91 says that 1000 will fall at my side and 10,000 at my right hand but no evil will come near my dwelling. My dwelling is in Your secret place and I am abiding under Your shadow. I don't have to fear anything.

Ok, if I really believe that, why did I panic when my mama asked me a question the other day. God, You know she is very sick and now one of my brothers is being attacked by sickness too. She asked me, "do you believe this could happen to you"...I have to admit, I turned away and said I don't even want to go there. I kinda lost my breath and felt totally backed into a corner, even fearful. If I said no, it would sound like I thought I was special and I don't. If I said yes, I would be opening a door for satan. I finally said, I guess it could happen to anyone.

I tend to not speak what I believe. Is this because I'm not sure of You? I think, I'm not sure of me. You are God, how could I not be sure of You..I'm just Connie, what do I know. I have to know what I believe and why I believe. Do I believe because it feels right at the moment or do I believe because it is Your Word?

Since that day, I keep hearing the question..what do you believe? Why do you believe what you believe? What I believe can not be based on how I feel or what I think or even what I have been taught. It is based on Your Word, God. Do I read Your Word and believe Your Word is true or do I read Your Word and hope It is true?

I want to know not hope.

God, You have given us Your completed Word and You are completing It in us.

Thank you for listening and God, thank you for never letting go

talk to you later
In Your Love

Connie

  1. Don't let questions like that have any place in your thoughts they are nothing but joy stealers you know His word is truth and the devil is a liar and the devil will use people to cause confusion in your life dont let that happen, as far as God being in control I think we associate that as if everything that happens in our life is caused by Him. I think that is incorrect. I think it should be said in spite of what happens in our life He is in control, sometimes we choose to believe something other than His word or we act in opposition to His word or will because of our fleshly desires or fears and there are consquences for our actions, but that doesnt change the plan of God for our lives it just slows the process, just as the children of Isreal wandered in the wilderness for 40 yrs.It was not Gods plan for that to happen but thier fleshly desires took control of thier actions instead of them trusting and believing God, but Gods plan still came to pass.I think sometimes we wander in the wilderness because of circumstances around us and our flesh trying to control our thoughts rather than our spirit.Let His word control your thoughts and crucify the flesh daily and life will be more joyful and victorious. He is truly an awesome God.

  2. My dear Connie,

My heart is overcome with your feelings. God is well aware of what is going on in you. You can be rest assured that He is not confused. I didn't even get by the first two verses of what you had wrote before the Holy Spirit had me pick up a pen and start writing on a piece of paper. I am still shaking from the power of what He said. There was no question He wanted this written. There was not one pause as He spoke.

In the beginning the flesh was not bad, it was perfect. It wasn't until sin entered the picture, that the flesh became tainted. In fact, man had become lost totally. But because of God's great love for that, that He created, He provided a perfect sacrifice to pay for the penalty of that sin. Sin caused us to be cut off from being able to have a relationship with our Father. But because of what Jesus did for us, our Father allowed us to be born again.

Now here is where we can get some great insight from our Father. He did not make us a new creature in our flesh, only in our spirit. When we look at it that way, it makes sense why our flesh continues to deterioate on a daily basis. It is impossible for it to live for ever. When Jesus comes back to rapture the church, those who have died and gone on to be with the Lord, there bodies will be resurrected first. And then those that remain will meet Him in the sky. It will be at that point our Father will provide us with our perfect form. God has perfected us in the spirit. That's why I say that what God has done for us in our new birth will never again be tainted. The reason for that is becauseof what the perfect sacrifice accomplished for us. Our salvation has been sealed, not by our ability to hold onto it, or by any other means of my self, but simply because of the action that Jesus took for us. If it's because of what Jesus did for us, then the only way it could be broken would be for some power greater than Him to overcome His actions and sacrifice. We all know, that is impossible!!! That's what the word means when it says our salvation is accquired by grace. Our Father's love for us has saved us. And He accomplished it for us by allowing His Son Jesus to pay the price for our sin.

In our spirit we have become a new creature. We are righteous in our spirit because of Jesus. Upon accepting Jesus as our personal Saviour, immediately the power to sustain it comes to live in us, the Holy Spirit!!! By His work in us, He leads us to have confidence in Him and not ourself. I still say that these feelings of frustration and confusion come not from our spirit, but our flesh. I thank God that He allows us to see and feel these things. By doing so, He allows us to see where those actions come from. Until we can realize that, we cannot be set free from the flesh. That doesn't mean that what is needed has not been provided to set us free. It only means that we have not come to the spiritual understanding of how and why we are!!! Thanks again to our Father for patiently leading us through these things so we can receive the total victory that Jesus has provided for us.

Will continue on additional comments. Will not let me post all the words.

  3. Connie, I love your honesty. In a blogging world of almost too much, I come to your words and they are honest and true. Just you and God, and you let us in. Thank you so much. You give me courage when I tend to fear. Thank you.

  4. The nature of the flesh, is that it has to do something for it to be worthy of receiving. It will always do that, because it was not born again!!! The old nature, the flesh, will always be the old nature. If it was not for our Father's persistance of allowing us to see that, we would continue to follow its leadership. Our flesh is a powerful thing. And when it teams itself up with Satan, it's beyond that!!! It has the ability to convince us that it's right!!! Exspecially when it's trying to do the right things, including spiritual and righteous things. I think the definition of that would be self-righteousness. None of us like to hear that, because it tears down the very FABRIC of what the flesh does to us. It wants to convince us that we are doing the right things. That God wants us to do these things. That way it can stay in control. That's a big reason why we judge our actions all the time!!! The flesh can convince us we are making headway!!! We are getting better!!! We want to pray that God allows us to see that we cannot be judged in our new birth!!! Jesus has conquered all SIN, all SIN!!! We are beyond the penalty of sin!!! But the flesh continues to try and keep us in bondage with it!!! We want God to bring us to grips with what's going on so that we don't have to be afraid of the lies our flesh continues to tell us each day. When we realize it can't hold us, we will understand why we have been set free!!! That fight we fight each day will gradually go away. I didn't say that it wouldn't continue to press against us. I didn't say that we won't on an occasion fall prey to it. I am saying that the truth will allow us to be able to turn it over to the ONE that has already defeated it!!! We will find ourself less and less being controlled and captured by the flesh, because we realize it can't defeat the side that God has born again!!! Eventually God will lead us to walk away when it starts. When that happens, all those feelings and emotions will be replaced with His confidence and security!!! And our fleshly concerns will go away!!! The fruits of the Spirit will speak and act through us!!!

Praise the Lord!!! He is God Almighty!!!

  5. Mike,

After I posted these long comments I saw your post. Very well said! Welcome back!

I don't know if this helps or not, but there is a big difference between causing and allowing. We all know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.

    Love you all,

  6. I soooo love talking with ya'll!!!!!!!!!!!!

Questions like that show me where I am. Satan thinks he can defeat us through our flesh and he does knock us backwards sometimes. But because we are filled with the Spirit of God, by His power we always can get back up.

God illuminates His Word that is in us which is why we have to read the Word of God. If we don't have the Word inside, it can't be brought to our remembrance.

We can take His Word for granted and not even realize it. Suddenly, bam..we get hit with something out of the blue. It can shake us up but it can't destroy us because we are filled with the Spirit of God; Who contains all the Power to lead us through.

He will remind us, you have My Word..remember? His Word is full of power and our victory is found There.

I guess circumstances are like fire burning all the impurities out of us. So, we should be thankful for them even though they are painful.

Each time we are one step closer to living in the Spirit instead of the flesh. :):)

It's easy to say we believe when everything is good but what do we do with what we believe when we get hit with whatever?

I don't like getting hit but it leads me into a stronger knowing of the Power and Truth of His Word. Less fear..more faith; always moving forward.

God is with us, leading us into all Truth by His Spirit.

    with MUCH Love!!

    Connie

  7. Like you, I love it when we are sharing. God has opened up so much more since we have been blogging. Not only that, we all have experienced the hand of our Father working in our life. It's funny, we never expect to grow spiritually the way God moves us. We kind of have this pre-determined idea of how we grow, yet God always takes a different path. The right one I might add. We all are receiving huge victories through our experiences, that could not be learned any other way. I know God will bring us all to the point that very little can trouble us because of who He is in our life. Thank you all for standing with me at all times. It makes a difference when we stand strong together. God is showing us that He is hearing all we talk about and extending His truth and power even deeper in our life.

    Praise the Lord!!!
